Mozilla unveils 'open' web app store prototype

Mozilla has released more details about its prototype "open" app store for the web.

Mozilla's announcement comes as Google plans to debut its own app store for its Chrome browser and web-based Chrome operating system. The proposed Chrome apps will not work in other browsers. Mozilla's proposal, which it has no plans to implement in the near future, would list apps that work on "any modern browser."
