Apture's interactive in-page search app gaining popularity

San Francisco startup Apture is growing in popularity as an interactive application to enhance the online reading experience. Apture is integrated into news sites such as The New York Times so that when readers highlight a word or phrase, a box appears about the selected text that offers a way to get additional information. Clicking the Apture box provides access to information from web sites such as Wikipedia and YouTube.

Apture is now going to be integrated in Scribd, a site where users shares and sells books, magazines and other reading material. The new partnership will allow users to access videos and related articles when reading books and other material online.
