Google Doodle honors father of genetics
"We celebrate Gregor Mendel, Austrian botanist & father of genetics, born July 20, 1822, Google tweeted Wednesday.
The Austrian friar's seminal 1865 paper, Experiments in Plant Hybridization, established the genetic laws of heredity. You can find out more about the father of genetics at the Masaryk University Mendel Museum.
