Andreessen Backs "Most Powerful Tablet Ever Made"
Kno Movie from Kno, Inc.
Silicon Valley kingpin Marc Andreessen is backing a new digital textbook for students that he calls "the most powerful tablet ever made." Kno, a startup based in Santa Clara, California, recently raised $46 million in venture capital from Andreessen Horowitz, Silicon Valley Bank and TriplePoint Capital. The Kno, which features two 14.1" touchscreens connected by a hinge that allows most textbooks to be represented without distortion, will ship by the end of the year. Andreessen, who developed the pioneering web browser Netscape, is also involved with Hewlett-Packard, Ebay, Skype and Facebook.
