Stanford Moving Library Books to Web

Most of the engineering periodicals at Stanford University are now online, according to a report by NPR.

Traditional textbooks have not been able to keep with the rapid changes in the field of engineering.

Stanford is one of many universities moving books online as part of the Google Books Library Project. The engineering library at Cornell University has a plan similar to the one at Stanford to replace hard copies of periodicals with digital versions.
